Watsonian Cricket Club is delighted to announce Pete Maksimczyk has joined the club.
A left arm seamer, Pete has been a fundamental part of Marchmont CC’s rise up the Scottish Leagues in recent years.
Since joining Marchmont in 2009, he represented them in a total of 282 games. Promoted to 1st XI captain in 2015, Pete was at the helm when MCC competed in the Championship.
Scoring over 2000 runs and taking 307 wickets in the past ten years, it is clear Pete will be a fantastic addition to WCC and contribute in many facets of the game.
Following the retirement of Andy McKay in 2017 and Dewald Nel in 2018, Pete will provide new first team captain Michael Carson with valuable firepower and experience.
“Pete coming in is excellent news and he’ll enjoy bowling at Myreside and the visiting grounds we play at. He will play a valuable role in supporting younger players like Callum MacLeod and Callum Martin. It’s an exciting time for the club and it’s a pleasure to have Pete join.”
“I am really excited to be joining Watsonians, a club with fantastic facilities, players and history. I am excited by the challenge of playing premier cricket and am grateful for the last 10 years at Marchmont, a club that has developed me so much and been so supportive of this move.”
Everyone at Watsonians wishes Pete all the best and look forward to seeing him get stuck in.
