Not so great weather this Sunday, however we did manage to get our second game of the season played.
On a dreich Sunday and after a change in ground we our second game of the outdoor season was good to go and it all kicked off at 1pm at Myreside. Our team of 9 to play RHC Ladies includedVictoria Alice Yvette Denise Fiona Holly Sarah Felicia Sally We were batting first and first up were Holly and Alice. Unfortunately we got of to a bit of a shaky start with the visitors taking 2 wickets in 2 overs leaving us 2-2 after 2.2 overs. With some top bowling from the opposition and with the difficult conditions wickets continued to fall however we stuck in and began to start scoring some runs get to 20-4 then 47-7 after 18 overs. However, a last wicket partnership from Victoria and Sally saw them add another 43 runs to our total with out final score 90 all out, with Victoria unbeaten with 19* We then took to the field where Holly and Alice opened up again with some great bowling up front. However, the visitors put in some big hits and started off well and were 33-0 after 3 overs. Up next in the bowling were Victoria and Sarah and they too bowled great. With more great bowling and some very brave fielding from the team (special mention to Yvette who has the bruises to prove) we could not stop the big hitting from the opposition who were then 71-0 off 8. Unfortunately it was not to be our day and the visitors won by 10 wickets with R.Patel on 30* and K.Levenson bringing up her half century and finishing on 59* A big thank you to umpires, scorers and groundsman. A great effort from the ladies under the conditions just unfortunate that it didn’t go our way. Onwards and up wards to our next game which is this Sunday at Craiglockhart against Carlton! |
