The 2s faced RHC at Craiglockhart, the toss was won by the opposition and put us in to bat. Opening up for Sonians was Goodill and Learmonth who put on a comfortable 56 runs, and one injured bowler, by the fall of the first wicket. Run rate stayed stable throughout the overs with the solid base of Ramani’s style of batting. Then a quickfire 54 made up of 9 boundaries from Ewan Robertson with some flashy shots over square leg. Runs down the order slowed down and Sonians finished on 215.
After a Sonian fire at tea, Willsdon and Martin opened the bowling. Managing to keep the run rate low and slow for the first 15 overs going for 58 runs for 4 wickets including a sharp catch from Ramani at cover. Captain Rae stepped up to finish the wicket taking with some fine figures of 3-15 from 6 overs. Some of the other bowling figures; C Martin 2-25, C Willsdon 1-20 and R High 1-22. Overall a solid win for the Sonians leading on to the rest of the season.
